Personal Note to the Reader

As far back as I can remember, I have had a deep fascination with God, human emotions and all things of a spiritual nature. As a result I have spent the past twenty years or so of my life reading and studying anything and everything I could get my hands on about these subjects. The early and untimely death of first my mother and then my husband contributed to my desire to delve into the spiritual aspects of our nature. I have now come to think of my unquenchable thirst for knowledge and my desire to know God as a spiritual quest.

It goes without saying that the knowledge I have gained has added tremendously to my spiritual growth, as well as my overall growth as a human being. And even though the growth process has been, a long, up and down, back and forth, and sometimes quite painful process, it has been well worth all the extra effort that I have put into it, because the quality of my life has increased immensely.

There is an old saying that goes: "when you've gained something positive, quite often, you would like to give something back." This comes close to describing what I was feeling when I decided to write this book. Of course, I also wanted to see all the knowledge I have gained from my many years of reading expressed in my own unique fashion. What better way to bring this about, I thought, than to write my own book?

I decided to write this book in the form of letters because this is what I found came most naturally to me. Since this book is about relationships, human emotions and spirituality, I found that letters provided me with an easier way to tie all of these subjects together.

It was my intent to write a book that could be read in a variety of different ways, and could also serve a variety of different purposes. This is why I have covered the negative and the positive aspects of such a wide range of subject matter. I hope that as you read this book you will personally get out of it whatever it is that you need. I have no doubt that some of these letters will touch you personally.

Although these letters are fictitious, they do carry within them hints and messages of everyday real life experiences. I hope that as you read these letters, you will find them insightful, thought provoking and that at least some of them will leave a lasting impression on your mind.

But I must say that there is one main point that I wanted to try to get across to most of my readers, which is why you will find this message as an on-going theme throughout the course of this book.

My massage to you the reader, is that a part of God is inside of you. And the only way to lift yourself up and out of all of your emotional difficulties, with yourself, and with others, is to turn within so that you can heed the message of the soft and gentle voice of God that speaks to you from within. We are tying so hard to control ourselves from the outside, but the solutions to all of our problems lie within.

I believe that we are currently in the process of trying to make the transition from the outside to the inside, and this is reflected by all of the violence that we currently see in our society. Our turbulent society is attempting to push us back into ourselves so that we will rise above our ego natures, connect with our spiritual natures, and one again re-establish our divine and inner connection with God's love. The kingdom of God lies within.

I also believe that to a certain extent, we are all prodigal sons and daughters who are lost, searching, and trying to find our way back home. And when we begin to realize that the treasure map that will lead us back to our father's house lies within us, we will be just that much closer to the healing that God's love will provide. This in turn, will enable us to go out into the world with the knowledge and the message that God's love is inside of us. I believe that this message will help to bring about the spiritual healing that our planet is so desperately starving for. I think of this book as my way of spreading that message. I am not trying to say something that has not been said before, I am merely saying it my way.

Oh, by the way, it is not my intent to step forward and try to present myself as some sort of an expert, because an expert I am not. And since I am still growing , learning and experiencing my trials and tribulations just like you are, quite often I have to stop and remind myself to do the same thing that I am urging you to do. To turn within.

So if I manage to get this point across to you in any measurable way that will help to enhance the quality of your life, then I feel that you and I have made a spiritual connection. And I will rest assured just knowing that my book has served it purpose for you, for myself, and for God.

I now salute you on your spiritual journey back home!
